Palmers Olive Oil Forumla Shampoo Review

Back in May I started using this shampoo - the Palmers Olive Oil formula - because I discovered a bald spot in my hair. Yikes! I was really upset about this, as my hair had been growing back so healthily and strong after my big chop. This product contains a whole bunch of hair cherishing  ingredients that  not only grew my hair back in 12 weeks, but also strengthened my new growth and hair as a whole. I didn't take any pictures of my hair loss, as I didn't want to be reminded of it, but I've taken a picture of my hair where it has now grown back and I'm ecstatic!

Why I Love This Product

  • This shampoo smells divine. The scent lasts so long, and has a light, refreshing aroma.
  • It has a soft, creamy texture which generates a lather almost immedietly, and my hair feels silky after the first rinse.
  • The shampoo contains Jamacian black Castor Oil. This is known to promote hair growth, as it contains omega-9 fatty acid (ricinoleic acid) which helps increase blood circulation. Therefore it stimulates the hair follicles and encourages growth. It also contains Lipids which help relieve your hair and scalp of dryness and itchiness.
  • Black Castor Oil makes a great heat protectant.  The lipids it contains help the hair to create a protective barrier, which is even strong enough to withstand heat.
  • The Shampoo also reduces frizz! This is particularly great for afro/curly hair, which can get frizzy by even the slightest change in temperature.
  • My hair is so much easier to style, which is a blessing because having a 4c/4a hair texture - making my hair extremely thick, and styling it can be a real workout.
  • Removes build up from your scalp almost instantly. Where I use gels to tame my edges or glue down my wigs hair, traces of product can sometimes get left behind. Lets be honest, it looks gross. This shampoo solves that problem perfectly.
  • It contains Olive Oil. Which contains vitamin E which is an anti-oxidant that also improves blood flow. Promotes scalp health, and reduces dandruff. It's anti-inflammatory, so it soothes your scalp. Olive oil also moisturises your hair- and is also great for your skin too! ( Don't put this product on your skin!).
  • It works well on all hair types!

Give Me Cosmetics Hair Mask Review

Since I did my big chop in 2016, I've had to make sure that I look after both my natural hair as it re-grows,  as well as my wigs - as I wear them almost everyday! My wig is made from human Brazilian hair, so in order to keep it looking healthy and natural its important to give it he moisture and nutrients it needs. This is because once hair is removed from the scalp it cannot supply itself with vitamins and oils.

The Give Me Cosmetics hair mask is one product I've recently started using through a collaboration with them, and its been love at first sight! The mask claims to: "Moisturise and revitalise" dry damaged hair as well as "smooth and repair" by deep conditioning.

The products capacity is 100ml, which is convenient in terms of travel, as its small so it wont take up much room in your wash bag!

Give me cosmetics is a cruelty free brand, so its safe to say the hair mask is guilt free! The hair mask contains coconut oil: which, when used as a deep conditioner stimulates the hair follicles which promotes hair growth and can add lustre, softness and shine to damaged hair. The mask also contains Argan oil - which similar to coconut oil also promotes hair growth, and tends gently to your new growth.

I now use this product once a week so I don't over moisturise my hair. I absolutely adore the smell and packaging too! My curls are more defined, softer and smell amazing.
You can purchase the product at an affordable price here:

How To Use:

  1. Comb through your hair using a wide tooth comb (as pictured) backwards from tip to root so to prevent damage to your hair.
  2. Wash, shampoo  and condition hair as normal
  3. Section or part your hair into 4, or into managable sizes and apply from root to tip (generously).
  4. Set a timer for 15 minutes and allow the product to work into the hair!
  5. Wash out, and air dry or lightly blow dry your hair on the 'cool' setting.

In May 2017, I cut my hair and donated it charity. I wear lace wigs as a protective style for my hair, as it gives me more flexibility with styling my hair without damaging it. My hair is in cornrows, which helps to promote hair growth.

I Treat my hair using Cantu's Shea butter hair mask. Which provides my hair with so much nourishing moisture, and tends to my newly grown hair.

Sex Goddess Hair - Lace wig Review

My gorgeous 22" Lace wig from Ali-Express is definitely one of my best hair investments. I paid roughly £90 in total. The wigs are custom maid, and I absolutely praise the fast service I received between myself and the vendor! I'm in love with the natural, Brazilian loose waves; which are easily revived in seconds by combing or brushing through using a wide tooth comb or paddle brush. I then spritz with the KMS California Leave in conditioner (which smells lush) which not only softens my hair, but also works as a detangler. I do find tangling to be an issue with this hair, which also results in shedding. I find clumps of hair in my combs and brushes, and all over the sink - however, due to the price of the hair, I can't really complain! I would definitely recommend this hair for anyone wanting a temporary change in hairstyle. My gorgeous curly Brazilian hair from www.beyondhair.co.uk with length's from 18" to 22" was one of my most recent and favourable looks of 2016. This is the same type of hair I featured in my curly hair tutorial on youtube. ( linked in an earlier post or find in the youtube tab). I absolutely adored this look, which gave me an 'earthy'/ 'natural' vibe. Very little tangling, the hair responds well to getting wet and softens very quickly with conditioner. My favourite attribute about this hair, is not only it's versatility, but also how long it lasts. I used this hair for roughly six months continuously (getting it removed, washed etc every 8 weeks) and it wasn't until then I noticed thinning, which, isn't really a massive problem as all this can be solved with another bundle. I still have this  hair, and will definitley be reusing it during the summer! For more information, check out the beyond hair site, head in store or explore my instagram!

My most frequently asked about questions are all about my hair! Find out all about how I'm styling, and what I'm using when I'm doing my hair! I've also included my hair growth journey, which I'll be updating regularly so you guys can all join me!

In May 2017 I cut nearly all of my hair off, and donated it to charity. To protect my natural hair, I like to wear wigs while it grows back as it gives me versatility with my hair styling.
