It’s week whatever the number now of lockdown and I’m still here trying on cute clothes and if you’re not then why aren’t you? This is the best time for you to be revamping yourself and having fun (whilst of course being productive) so make getting dressed up no exception. The benefits of dressing up with nowhere to go are being able to feel good as a result of looking good. When you pass a mirror and catch a glimpse of yourself you should see the reflection of the person you aspire to be. You send your mind a subconscious message that this is the physical reality you’re trying to tap into. Look good at home! Take some bomb pictures of yourself, go through your wardrobe and finally get around to doing that spring clean that you’ve been putting off for so long! So while we rotate on this never ending lockdown CD I’ve brought along from fresh fashion from Quarantine. Grab some inspo, grab your tea and let’s dive into this months Collab. 'Be Kind' TeeThe 'be kind' slogan was popularised by Caroline Flack, former love island presenter, whom shared this quote on her Instagram before she sadly took her own life. Tees such as these emit such a powerful message. As they remind us how important it is to choose our words wisely, and how easy it is to just be kind. The quote: “In a world where you can be anything, be kind” made the nation pause for a moment. Now with printed tees Femmeluxe elegantly plasters the quote across the beige cotton tee’s to further emphasise how important the message is. A subtle, silent protest. When we wear shirts like this, we can remind ourselves and each other that with all the opportunities we are presented with in this life that kindness is one that is free. You make think that it’s silly to wear slogan tees, but the universe When we surround ourselves with positive quotes and messages, the message you are trying to spread is sent further. As it sinks in your own mind and others, perhaps fashion is the way we are going to make a difference in this world? I decided to tie this shirt up as it is fairly long. If you’re doing the same make sure you don’t tie it too high! You may not see the quote! Black Crocodile Print LeggingsWhen I first saw these leggings, I gravitated towards them because they’re textured. I mean look at that print! Faux leather leggings and PVC leggings reappeared in the fashion world in 2019, and to add variety to your collection arrives the 'croc' print. You may be surprised to know that the faux crocodile print you've seen across in the internet is an adaptation of some of the luxury fashion world's most exotic fashion pieces. Having worked in luxury fashion, I learned that exotic fashion garments and accessories are usually a sign of wealth! So many wealthy clients that with a very particular taste in fashion would travel to London on their holidays seeking to buy some of the newest bags and jackets made from some of the most unique and rare animals from across the globe. I'm happy to share that these leggings are faux, so Femmeluxe kept cruelty free, but gave us permission to tap into that luxury fashion feel. How's that for a bargain? What I love about textured leggings is all sensory. You can run your hands down your legs and they either feel butter smooth if they’re faux leggings or rough and bumpy with the croc leggings. It adds a touch of badass and I guess evokes your inner reptilian. Black leggings alone become so boring, and these add a rebellious twist to your look, particularly if you’re opting for a plain white tee or you’re having an idgaf day – these leggings are a great idea. They’ve also made sure the waistband is nice and elasticated. The leggings are high waisted too so you’ve plenty room to tuck things in without looking too bulky. Also, they for sure make you look curvier. So now that we’ve spoken about the feel, let’s go for the visuals. The leggings mimic the crocodile skin print that also took the stage in 2019. Now I don’t know about you, but I saw TONNES of croc wear, mostly in neon pinks and slime green’s but I didn’t see many options for plain black. As my stylist friend Louise Adeoshun says, “black is a safety colour”, you can wear it with anything, and you know you will look good. That is why this piece is such a must-have for your wardrobe. The Denim DressMy first impression you ask? I thought of Rihanna. I thought regal dresses with a rough twist. Puffy arms, eluding sophistication – because this style isn’t for just anyone. Where would you wear this? How would you style this? Your clothes reflect your personality and your mood. Oversized denim jackets are a big part of my roll around gear. I wear my tops that are most revealing underneath or perhaps not as warm, and slink on an oversized denim jacket. It’s like having your boyfriends’ arms hung over you. The denim dress from Femmeluxe is literally the ‘femme’ version of that jacket. Accept this dress plays the strong, independent woman dress. Added to synch you together is a denim belt, giving your figure a Coca-Cola bottle illusion. What I love about this dress: It’s perfect in that you have the perfect blend of masculine/feminine in your outfit. You can look super cute whilst exploring with your friends or trekking through the city with the bonus of looking like a sophisticated fashionista. This is also a great piece for the summer evenings to come, because it has the ability to keep you warm but cool enough. What I don’t love: This is more of a personal problem, and not really a reflection of the dress, but as a slimmer gal I like to wear clothes that don’t emphasis the fact that I have tiny calves. As it’s a dress my legs are fully revealed! To break it up slightly I’ve since worn some high-top converse and an anklet to break up the illusion that I am in fact “all – leg”. Again, I say this not as a criticism about the dress but more as a personal issue I have. Although from the thighs up I do look curvier so that’s always a bonus. Pink Newspaper Print Tie TeeI’m a journalist so anything that has a bit of a news or magazine style reference or tribute will automatically capture my gaze, and I am not embarrassed to say that my opinion about this dress is partially biased because hey it's fashion and you’re allowed to express how you feel whichever way you please. So, I know the first thing that probably caught your eyes were the, ahem… cleavage that you can see. Well honey I’m glad you say that because I don’t think I have ever worn a top that has given me such a gorgeous, sensual look. As you can probably feel my energy from this article, I am so pleased about this because I feel sexy as hell – so if you’re looking for a piece to add to your wardrobe that’s going to boost your confidence and sensuality – go for this top. The material is stretchy and soft, it's a lovely lightweight piece which would be a perfect switch up on a summers evening/night out. You know when you need something jaw dropping to wear to a night out and you know your ex is going to be there? This is THAT TOP. Wear it properly and you can strike the perfect balance of flirty without looking too over the top. I simply paired this top with a pair of leggings (duh) because they’re comfortable and also gives me a chance to slouch out just a little. It’s all party at the top and chill at the bottom. The long tie material at the end of the top is such a useful piece of material that Femmeluxe have cleverly added. So, before you think to just wrap it into a little bow to get it out the way, decide to get creative with your shirt. I double wrapped the material to pull my waist in (do as I say not as I do) and then wrapped a small bow at the end, but there are countless ways you can tie that top.
Here’s some I’ve come up with: (Yes I came up with these snazzy titles myself)
I think you should be in love with this top, and with a good push up bra underneath anyone can put this on and look irresistible in it. Femmeluxe also have these cropped tops in all black so if you’re not a fan of pink, then go for the black version. Make sure you head over to the Femmeluxefinery website so you can grab some of these gorgeous garments for yourself! What did you think? Do you still have any burning questions to ask me? Send me a DM or email me at savannaantonia@gmail.com make sure you have a browse of some of the pieces featured in this month’s Femmeluxe blog post.
