Autumn is that awkward fashion period we all have to face. One day its warm, the next it’s freezing cold. It’s not quite summer but still not yet winter, and it can be a nightmare when you’re trying to plan your outfits for occasions or even just your day to day. This October I’ve paired up with Femmeluxe to share with you guys some autumn inspo to help combat the autumn clothes chaos, two simple styles that you can rock in the day and slay in the night. Both of these styles are sleeveless, so be prepared to show off your shoulders wearing these outfits. Of course, when you’re on your adventures, pair these fits up with your favourite outwear for extra warmth and comfort. For style one - our ‘day’ look, I’m wearing this subtle sage green off the shoulder top from Femmeluxe, the Sage off shoulder jacquard top (Robyn) I chose this piece firstly for the colour. Have you seen that Green? Sage green has swept onto the shelves and shaken up the fashion world, we’ve seen this tone added to the wardrobes of minimalist enthusiasts and we can’t be mad at it. Autumn tones are earthy, green, brown beige,, deep orange and ruby red. This top fits the vibe perfectly and subtly. Neutral enough to be paired perfectly with your denims, or camel coloured coats and shoes. You also wanna be sure to pair these tones with some ‘metals’. By ‘metals’ I mean jewellery, bags, belts or sunglasses that have gold, rose gold or silver detailing that will give your outfit a gorgeous pop. I paired this Sage off shoulder jacquard top (Robyn) top from Femmeluxe with stone coloured leggings - just look how great the two tones compliment each other. We often assume dressing in the autumn mean’s our fashion should darken, but working with lighter autumnal tones really brighten up your style. Off the shoulder looks have been a trend for the past two years now, with big brands bringing back off-shoulder dresses and blouses - and that doesn’t have to stop just because we’ve changed seasons. I’ve mentioned this in previous articles, but baring your collar bones are a subtle way to exude sensuality and inoffensively show off some skin. I love wearing halter necks and tops that emphasize my cleavage, as these styles complement and add volume to my slender figure. Pulling these looks off isn’t always easy, and sometimes it’s just too cold! The off-shoulder style meets you halfway - making it perfect to wear at brunches and day events. The material for this number is a comfortable & breathable cotton, perfect for a chilly day with a ribbed, corset appearance to give you some shape. The second style - our ‘night’ look, is the complete opposite of subtlety. We’re talking diamante to steal everyone's gaze. I paired up with Femmeluxe to share this silver chain Mail Cowl Halter Neck Open Back Crop Top (Zora) to give you some glam night autumnal inspo. So earlier in this post we discussed Earth tones and metals, and how they can help you style your outfit this season. Well for this style, the top IS the metal. So the way to work this sleeveless, glamorous dream is to simply do the reverse, pair it with earth tones and denims. I’d pair this top with some high waisted leggings, or denim jeans, let your accessories add the pop over colour - like a brown bag or some deep coloured outerwear. This top has a gorgeous cowl neck style, giving you a feminine look, while the diamante’s add glamour. This style top is perfect to wear to the bar or at an evening event. Just throw on a shawl or leather jacket for warmth. To add, this top is also backless, so I’d recommend wearing an invisible bra or the like to add some shape to this fit. Mail Cowl Halter Neck Open Back Crop Top (Zora) has two clasps for fastening. One at the nape of the neck and one at the back, to keep the top secure and to you know - hold you in.
The top is super lightweight, despite how it may look, so you have the freedom to party all night without feeling weighed down or getting super hot. Love these styles or wanna browse some more? Visit Femmeluxe.co.uk to shop more autumn looks. See you in the next post, Antonia x
