There’s always an awkward period between Christmas and the new year where we’re all in some sort of limbo, if we’re not battling a flu because its been freee-zing we find ourselves running around visiting family and friends, or finally, we’re doing none of that, but spending our time recovering from the winter festivities, recharging our batteries for the new year. Whatever it is taking up your time during the countdown to the new year, fashion and choosing what to wear should be the least of your worries - so don’t worry, Femmeluxe and I have you covered with these two cute looks, let us know what you think in the comments below! The first fit I wanna focus on is the Cream Strappy Silk Bodycon Mini Dress - Keely from Femmeluxe. I know exactly what you’re thinking too, ‘How can I possibly wear something like that in this weather?’ and that’s totally the risk of wearing dresses in the winter - but should we let that stop us? Absolutely not! One of the biggest tricks in the fashion book is ‘layering up’ , adding extra items of clothing either underneath or on top of your clothes can help you to wear some of your coolest outfits in the winter without actually feeling cold, so that's what I did here for this dress, by throwing on a pair of lush faux leather black knee high boots, which I’ll be wearing with both the fits to show you how you can layer - even with your shoes! So lets get onto the dress itself, this cream dress is super cute and reminds me of some sexy lingerie. When looking at the details the dress features a criss cross style design on the front, which is great for giving the front of the outfit a synched look, making your waist look SNATCHED af. Another detail I love on this dress is the bust, which along with wiring which makes it super wearable without a bra, but also the ruched detailing, which again gives an illusion of having a bigger more lifted bust area. Wearing the dress is really easy too, we have a zip to help make the dress look super secure, but along with this the dress is also elasticated, so it not only hugs your curves but can also stretch to fit - how all dresses should be! The material is a lovely soft silk, so the dress is nice and breathable too. The second piece I’ve style with my Knee high black boots are my Blue Light Wash Long distressed Front Shorts - RAE. For sure, I know exactly what you thought when your eyes skimmed across the words ‘shorts’ but honestly, keep reading, I promise you that shorts in the winter truly work! Before we get into that though, let's dive into the detailing of this piece, because its the details that really lift these shorts from being average to eye-catching! This gorgeous denim piece has some lovely distressing on the front of the shorts, really giving the look an element of ‘edginess to it’ , another daring winter look. The shorts are high waisted, which is perfect again for my fellow curvy girls that wanna keep it all in, in all the right places. With pockets on both the front and the back of the shorts. Fun Fact: Wearing shorts with smaller back pockets makes your booty look bigger! If I wanted to add a little more edge and a layer of warmth, I would totally throw on a pair of fishnet tights. More over, I’m wearing an oversized biege teddy bear coat and a cute top to match, and there you have it - wearing shorts in the winter! For accessories, throw on a cute bag or clutch to add another element of style and then you can consider your outfit covered!
We have so many options these days that we can wear outfits we would have only dared wear in the summer during any season! So I hope my blog post has helped convince you that fashion can be fun, even if it's FREEZING! Speak soon, Antonia xx
